Kinshasa, March 18th, 2023 (CPA). – The state of progress of projects financed by the World Bank in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was the subject of exchanges on Friday between President Felix Tshisekedi and a senior official of this institution, Mr. Albert Zeufack, CPA learnt from the Presidency.
The Head of State and his host also reviewed the various avenues of reflection of the World Bank to accompany the DRC in its economic transformation and the implementation of fundamental infrastructure for job creation and improvement of living conditions of the population.
The source also stresses that these two personalities also spoke about the budget support programme of 500 million US dollars that the World Bank is preparing and which will soon be submitted to the board of directors of this financial body.
They also spoke about the « girls’ secondary education » project, a US$ 400 million project to support the implementation of free primary schooling and to accompany girls to secondary education, while protecting them from all kinds of violence.
The support that the World Bank wants to give to the Kananga-Bukavu road construction project was also mentioned by the Head of State and Mr Zeufack. CPA/
